Holding Light

Greetings Friends,

The Vernal Equinox marked two key transitions in my artistic life. The first was moving my client practice to a beautiful new home in Woodstock, NY, which enables the second transition: deepening the rigor and application of my artistry.

Opening this new season is a 21-minute solo that I’ve created in response to HOLDING LIGHT SUTRA, a brilliant multi-media installation by artist Millicent Young.

You may recognize Millicent’s name as the artist who brought my vision of the KINSHIP creature into form through her insightful design and organic sculptural excecution.

It is an honor to participate in an upcoming Performance Event alongside Millicent Young and musician Timothy Hill. For more on HOLDING LIGHT SUTRA and the exhibition, click the button below.

In Gratitude & Tenderness,
Jeni

KINSHIP UPDATES |3.8.26 & beyond

The KIN COMMUNITY EVENT on March 8th was a gorgeous late winter gathering. Just days after a massive snow melt, the River of Peace rushed and swelled, filling the atmosphere with joyous sound. We explored movement and sound through our bodies, memory, and direct experience. This time together shaped and shapes the dance-making process for the final KINSHIP performance on September 12, 2026.

Special thank you’s to Dustin (fire tending), Kate, Samata, Charlie, Chris, & Tessa, as well as all those behind the scenes who helped bring this event into being through your financial gifts, notes of encouragement, and more. Gratitude as always to the living world of Blue Deer Center and all who steward this place.

GRATITUDE for all who have contributed to my heart-work as an artist. Most recent sponsors: Tessa Chandler, Kate Banner, and Samata Horwitz, as well as the above 3/8 KIN event donors and participants. Thank you Thank you Thank you!

All donations made through The Field are tax-deductible and immensely appreciated!

KINSHIP: Bodies of Belonging
is a transdisciplinary dance work that engages landscape, community, and seasonal cycles, featuring a sculpture conceptualized and designed for this project.

KINSHIP is developed in responsive-relationship with two primary places: the sacred land stewarded by Blue Deer Center in the Catskills Mountains, and daily life as place, allowing the artist to create within the spontaneity, rhythms, and intimacies of daily life.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRESENCE HERE.
